If its the airbed sleeper sofa, the back comes off. Take out the drawer, too. Call a Montana dealer and ask, as I didn't do mine. I had a dealership do it and I forgot how they told me to do it. Press some buttons in the back is all I remember...

Since you don't have your year of your 36rl posted, I am not sure if you are talking about this type of sofa...

*On Edit~ Now I believe that it was the old type sofa that the back came off of? Someone with a better memory than me (2½ yrs ago that I made this change and I can't remember what I had for dinner last night...) should be by shortly...

Not sure what model you have. If it's just the standard sofa bed (not the air mattress), take the cushions off and tie the bed frame to the front of the sofa so it won't come open. Get two strong guys, pick it up, tip it forward and carry it out. It just fits. We have a 2004 3670rl and we changed ours.

Ours was the standard sofabed, prior to the airbed. We did exactly the same as tbhd did. Also, we were able to bring in a new house style sofabed without much difficulty other than the usual twisting and turning to clear the counter, etc.
