Recall? Valve Stems?

I am out of town on business (one more month, then retirement ). Spoke to the DW last night on the phone and she said we got a recall notice on our '07 3075RL from Keystone. Something about valve stems. Anyone else got one? Curious what it is about.

I haven't seen anything like that yet for our 2007 3400RL. However, we just get a weekly mail shipment so it may be enroute. I wonder if this has to do with valve stems installed in certain rims or all Montanas built on certain dates? Do you have the aluminum or white steel rims?

Reading the notice in the link above, it says it applies to steel wheels, and does not apply to aluminum. Mine are aluminum so I guess they sent the recall to me by mistake. Unless it originally had steel wheels and were replaced by either Keystone or the dealer as we bought it new.

If you call Keystone with the vin they can tell you what wheels it was shipped with, if you care.

We got our recall notice yesterday. I'd read something last year in a magazine or maybe on the internet about this valve stem recall, but several dealers I talked to last summer knew nothing about it. Good timing for us, because we need to take our 3585 in for some warranty stuff (cracked sink, faucet handles that won't stay tight, water pump misbehavior, frame around microwave peeling and cracking, etc.). I'm glad we got the notice now so that we didn't have to make two trips to get things fixed!

Check your spare tire, it could be steel.

Had not thought about the spare. I will have to look.

Edit: The spare is the only steel wheel. The others are aluminum. Called Keystone and asked if I could just take the spare to a local tire store. She said I needed to take it to a Keystone dealer so that they can process the proper paperwork to show recall work completed. 45 miles instead of 2 miles (each way).

We did not need a recall notice to know that the stems on the steel wheels were defective. We replaced all of them long ago as they all leaked air.
