^%@*(* Manzanita Stains
Is there an easy way to remove manzinata stains?
I'm getting Monty ready to be put away for a couple of months and I found stains all over the front & rear caps. It too 2 1/2 hours to get the stains off with Thetford cleaner/wax. There's got to be something that works better.
Thanks,
Russ

Sorry, forgive my ignorance, but I am not familiar with "manzinata". Could you possibly mean "manzanita", the tree?

If you are talking about stain from the leaves that stick to the Monty when damp, we had the same problem with maple leaves. I tried lots of cleaning products and finally used a small amount of toothpaste (gel type that would not be too abrasive)on a soft cloth, which took the brown stains right off. Good luck. Will be watching to see what others say.

Do a search for hydrogen peroxide (match exact words) There's a few suggestions on that. Bill

Yes, I can't type for crap! I admit it.
I'm a little leery of using even a gel toothpaste, too abrasive. I want the gel coat on my Monty to last forever.
I will be trying the hydrogen peroxide and Magic Eraser next time for sure.
Thanks for the tips. This forum is awesome!

Muddy Paws
Love those magic erasers, but I strongly suspect they have "grit" in them. I would be very gentle using the magic eraser on painted surfaces, specially that gel coat.

My previous rv had been neglected for a while, I used Meguires(msp) boat and fiberglass cleaner on it, did a pretty good job too,.That might also help. Don't remember stain removal, but it sure removed the oxidation. Bill

The Magic Erasers are good for the vinyl, but I don't think I would use it on the Gel Coat.

Just returned from a trip to the New England area and had really good luck with the fabric softener sheets that so many have recommended. On some stubborn stained areas it took a little more rubbing than the other areas, but they did come clean. mike

I don't understand about the manzanita. In our neck of the woods they are a small tree or shrub. It does produce some very small fruits. But I don't see how that could cause a problem getting on the front of the rig. Obviously I need an education on this subject.

We were in a RV park in Gatlinburg TN for nine days. We had completely detailed the RV before we took our 1200 mile trip. When we returned home and washed the Monty there was a stain left on about 1/3 of the rig.
I used everything, even hydrogen peroxide without any luck. I finally used full strength Awesome and the Magic Eraser. I did use it on the Gel Cap and is fine. We are reapplying wax this weekend. You do need to be really careful with the eraser pads as they will take your skin off your fingers if you aren't careful.
