Leaking Galley Tank

Well, I arrived in Arizona last week and my galley tank is leaking AGAIN! Had it replaced about 2 years ago under extended warranty. Either the 1200 mile trip down with empty tanks or filling it too full before emptying, it is leaking out of the belly pan and down the handle. Left the tank handle open after draining and it still leaks, so now we can't use the kitchen sink. Have to do dishes in plastic pan and then dump in toilet. Real handy for the next 3 months. Will have to wait until return home for repairs. Goes along with hernia I discovered I have after arriving here.

You will need to install two rubber couplings in the drain line, one near the tank, one near the drain. The tank needs to flex, the rigid drain line does not allow the flex.. and it cracks the tank at the spud usually. You can repair the tank if you wish with a black tank repair kit from Amazon, around $40

I would bet when they replaced your tank before they did not put the rubber coupling in. I requested them on mine but the RV techs already knew it needed them lol lol guess they been there done that.....when you fill it too full is when it fails.....

Ozz, I don't understand where it is that you put the couplings at. Do you have any pictures as to where they go and what they look like. I appreciate your help and knowledge. I am a RV park for the winter and can only do a limited amount of work.

Just look at the drain line from the tank, put one close to the tank and one down stream.. from the tank. that will 'float' the drain line a bit. I do not have pictures of my couplers, perhaps others do have pictures.
