Removing the sofa
Want to remove the sofa in our 2011 3400. I know a lot of you have done this; can you please tell me what's involved/how to do it? No desire to cut it up and take it out in pieces; it's still a usable piece of furniture, but I want that space for a sewing area.
TIA,
Margaret

Not the expert on this issue, but I know some have removed the rear window for things like this.

The rear back support section will pull up and off the base section if you have the fold out hid a bed type. Same with the recliner chair. That allowed me to man handle it out the door.
Good luck and safe travels.

Take it apart, as Mr. Kohl notes. Then, manhandle it out the door in parts. They ain't lightweights, eh??

I took mine out the door after lifting the back straight up. If it is a fold out bed, tie the folding mechanism before turning it sideways.

We took ours out upside down and a little sideways in one piece. Now it's the guest bed at our RV home base.

Our 2008 had a worn cloth sofa we replaced. I took the back off as described, didn't have any help lifting it out, ended up cutting it down and taking it to dumpster. I agree about having two guys to carrying it out the door.

Thank you all for your words of wisdom. Take the back off...manhandle out the door. No one mentioned colorful language. Is that because it's a given in any repair/remodel situation? Hopefully the 30-somethings we are on our way to visit will be able to provide the necessary additional manhandling power. Can't wait to get the behemoth out of here so I can set up a sewing area.

Mumbled, of course.
