Memory tested

I'm in the process of replacing our load center in the S&B, so we will be spending a night or two boondocking in our driveway. In getting the Monty ready, fill with water and turning on the batteries, I noticed the porch, step, and pin box lights all came on. After some troubleshooting I discovered 12V on the load side of the switch going to the pin box light. Not wanting to take the time to find out why, I just cut the light loose and figure problem out later. After awhile, it dawned on me. That d***ed remote.

This seems to be a common problem with the remotes. I love the remote it is the best thing since sliced bread. Perhaps what Lippert need to do is make that action only happen on a two button push. That way it would be less likely to happen accidentally. However I think when we are attempting to turn the control box on we accidentally turn on the lights by hitting that button first. On mine I have to hit the LCI button then the light button to activate the control box, this action does not turn the lights on.

Still would not want to be without the remote and I use it all the time.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to be without that remote either. There's really no problem with the remote, the problem is brain fade.

Or as sometimes referred to as an expulsion of foul air from the brain...LOL

Once we added level-up and the remote didn't work with it I put the remote away and haven't used it for years. Haven't missed it either.

Had one for the 3400RL and kept it stored. Didn't get one for new digs and don't want one based on all problems I have read about on MOC. IMHO remotes are great for the RV, car, truck, and maybe a couple of other things.....but not my Montana.

Hi

When the remote receiver went up in smoke at about 12 months old and Lippert wouldn’t allow warranty on it I just removed it and put a fuse holder block in place of it and fused the appliances run by the remote and went all manual.

We had a remote on previous Monty, but on this one we do not and like not having one much better. Some new gadgets are not always progress.

My remote went off by mistake as well one time and I said that's it took the batteries out and put it in the Junk drawer, the remote is a cool idea but for a lot of us would rather do the slides etc.. with the inside switches

Last count, we had 13 remotes, no wait, outside LED strip remote makes 14, in the Monty. 8 of those came with it when we got it.
