D and M On The Road-

Exactly where is the first meeting place for the Davis and Sacramento (and surrounding areas)? I know we will need to meet at 5am

I am the co-pilot here.....and I get all the info. It's the only time I get away with telling him "what to do".

PartyCrashers.....

Directly across from the Chevron station on Road 102 is a "wide spot" on the side of the road. The Davis MOCers will meet there just before 5am. Shouldn't be much traffic at that hour other than a few folks on their way to the airport.

We'll hang out there until we hear on our walkie-talkies from the folks coming north on I-5 from the Sacramento area and then we'll get onto I-5 via the entrance right there and meet up with them. That way the Sacramento folks don't have to get off the freeway.

We still have to settle on a frequency for the walkie-talkies. I have most everyone's cell phones and will email that out to the entire caravan the week leading up to the rally.

Ya'll understand the method to my madness?

Hey D & M we will be leaving Chico about 6 or 6:15 and will join up with you guys at the casino.

Do you have any particular area at the casino where you are planning to park?

Only 10 more days!!!!

Capt Kidd... they've done some remodeling of the parking lot since the last time we were there, but semi-trucks and RVs are supposed to use the entrance that is just past the casino (just before the gas station). So we'll enter through there and park either with the big trucks or where ever a sign designates for RVs.

I'll call there and double check.

Either way.... you'll find us at the food... or we'll find you at the food!...

This is getting exciting....sounds like we are going to have some fun!

Margee, How many rigs do you think we will have in the parking lot?

How many on the road?

The fun part is we are all going to pull in the camp ground at the same time.....they are going to be buuuuusy!

By the way Margee, if this year you need to do anything in the trailer at check in, don't worry we will be there and have your back! We won't let Doug pull forward (with steps down) while you are in the trailer

*Let's get this party started early*

We'll be leaving the Sacramento area (Davis) just before 5am on Friday the 23rd, and plan on arriving at the "Rolling Hills Casino" in Corning just before 7am. That's when their great breakfast buffet opens. If you have a little bit of gray hair... they give you the "Senior" discount!!

If anyone wants to caravan from the Sacramento area... let us know. It's about 2 hours to Corning when pulling an RV from the city of Davis. Or, if any MOCers from any other location want to meet up at the casino for breakfast and then caravan from there to Lake Siskiyou, that would be great! (It's about another 2 hours to Shasta City as the RV flies).

There is a Chevron gas/diesel station at the Casino and there is a Flying J Travel Plaza at the I-5/South Ave. exit, (exit #631) which is just up I-5 past the Casino a mile or so. Either one is great for getting fuel before the uphill climb.

Doug & Margee.

Driving from I-5 south:
Exit at Liberal Avenue (exit #628).
At top of ramp, turn left & cross over the freeway.
At the bottom of the overcrossing is Barham Avenue, (careful, it comes up fast!) turn left and
the casino is down on your right.
Go past the Casino and enter at the truck entrance, just before the Chevron Station.

MOC Caravan:
Capt Kidd (Don & Frances & Gail)
D&M-On-The-Road (Doug & Margee)
Debbie Asher (John & Debbie)
LittleSpud (Gary & Jennifer)
PartyCrashers (Kevin & Denise)
Ron-n-Ginger (Ron & Ginger)
Nailbender (Don & Joy) Coming to Corning for breakfast

For RVers who would like to overnight blacktop boondock, or to just park and go inside the casino for awhile, there is FREE daily & overnight parking available in the truck parking lot or watch for the signs directing RVs to another parking area.

If someone wants to park and stay overnight at the casino, you can park as mentioned above, or check-in to the newer unmanned gated RV Park that allows RVs to check in/out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a self check-in machine. Credit cards or cash accepted. The rate is $25 per night. RVs are accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once you've checked-in at the self check-in machine, go select and park in one of the 48 full-hookup, pull-through sites and put your receipt from the check-in machine on your dash. All sites are level gravel pads that are 75 feet long. Tent camping is not allowed. Rigs not displaying the receipt will be issued a $100 ticket by the security patrol.

The RV Park and the truck parking lot are a very short walking distance to the casino and shuttle service is also available. The RV Park can be reached at 530-385-1445. www.rollinghillscasino.com

Nailbender.... if you want to PM or email me your cellphone number, we can keep in touch with you to let you know if we are arriving on time at the casino. I'll also send you an email with all the caravan's phone numbers a few days before the rally.

Last night I emailed everyone who is in the "Breakfast Caravan" the list of names, cellphone numbers & truck identification. Also sent one out to you, NailBender.

If you didn't receive it, let me know. With Luck.... we'll all be able to meet up as planned and get the Caravan headed north. Other than that.... see you next Friday!

If anyone else who is meeting at the Rolling Hills Casino on Friday morning is crazy enough to still be awake like I am, I just talked with the casino and they said that RVs now have to park in the semi-truck parking lot.

When facing the casino, it's to the left of the casino. So be sure to go past the casino and then turn into the driveway just before the gas station.
