dometic remote comfort control

Our 05' 3670 has the dometic remote comfort control. We both like things kept simple and I would like to go back to basics and install a basic themostat, digital if possible. Anybody make this mod or know if it can be done? Thanks !

This is a common topic. You should be able to find lots of previous posts on this. In short, you can't replace the remote with a conventional thermostat because of the way it is wired. You can get a Dometic "Comfort Control Center" that will replace the remote and work well. You need to contact Dometic about the replacement because it also involves replacing a circuit board in the Air Conditioner itself. (We have the same unit as you and made this change a long while ago.)

We agree we had those remote control system on two of our 5er's and they never work correctly. The system we have now is the Comfort Control system, which has Zone 1 and Zone 2 Control. Zone 1 is for the living area and Zone 2 is for the bedroom area. Both are controled by thermostat and work well. GBY...

This topic has been discussed extensively in the past. The most recent iteration was in May and lots of good info was given. Try this link (and the links referenced therein) and I think you too will know than you ever wanted about the dreaded remote control thermostat.
