Tiny pic bad experience

I had a picture of truck and 3400rl unit linked to the MOC site through Tiny pic link. I have now removed this link. I would like to apologies to all those that may have accessed this link. Apparently other people added some not so nice pictures. If any MOC members are using this site to show picuters you may wish to check it out.

If you are seeing any individual offensive photo or video there is a "Report Offensive Material" link on the lower left of the page. They will remove such pics.

If you care to you can use this link for your TV and Monty

You know, that is just plain mean of whoever did that to you. It's amazing (and occasionally disheartening) just what a person with bad intentions can do to otherwise legitimate internet postings. Don't feel badly; it wasn't your fault. At least you discovered the problem and fixed it!

if you use "tinypics" instead of "tinypic" in the url it goes to a porn site. Could this be the problem?

I also use photobucket, like Carolyn. You have to sign up but it is free and it is fast and they do not eventually delete your picture like tinypic does.

If I can help you get it back out there, please click the envelope icon above this post and email me.

Steve, When I first started the Owners Rigs pages I used tiny pic exclusively before switching to Photobucket. I didn't take an actual count but I would estimate at least 100 or more tiny pic links. I just checked all 5 pages and every pic still works. These pages date back to 2005. Tiny Pic has not deleted a single one.

Rich, Prior to my previous reply Posted - Jul 23 2009 : 10:59:55 AM I had gone to Tiny Pic (NO S) and spent 20 minutes looking for anything and could not find 1 objectionable pic. Just what were you "Searching" for?

I just stopped clicking on people who had tinypic links.

The issue is with tinypic posting extra pictures at the bottom of a person's link. In particular, there is a picture of two very young shirtless men, embracing a little too lovingly.

After about three links from different people displaying this I stopped clicking on the Tinypic links.

Glenn, now that this has your attention and you might be able to bring it to the proper person's attention, I will try and find the links in this forum and point them out to you.

To reiterate, the poster DOES NOT appear to be at fault. This appears to be unfortunate actions on Tinypics part to drum up some interest to link to other albums or pictures. I DO NOT believe any MOCer condones or supports what is being done. They might not be aware.

Again, I shall watch for it, now that Mr. Glenn is concerned.

You can call up about anything you wish on the search function. When I searched for Montana Fifth wheels I got 88 pictures of Montana 5th wheels. Some of them may be MOC pictures.

#1- My comment was "and could not find 1 objectionable pic."
Art, if you or anyone else considers "The issue is with tinypic posting extra pictures at the bottom of a person's link. In particular, there is a picture of two very young shirtless men, embracing a little too lovingly." as objectionable than maybe you all also consider many television programs, commercials, et al as objectionable but I'll be willing to bet no one will be turning off or get rid of their television.

#2- For All, DON'T STOP USING TINYPIC. TinyPic is still the best and easiest way to get a photo online. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to link to their photo to this
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=112a2v5&s=3
when it is just as easy to link to this http://i27.tinypic.com/112a2v5.jpg .
IF there is anyone out there that does not know exactly how to link to the photo alone just let me know and I will help you out.
#3- Art, No need to "Again, I shall watch for it, now that Mr. Glenn is concerned." As I am not concerned just a little more open minded.

Just an honest mistake in typing the url! I used to use the tinypic site but got tired of them deleting older pictures so switched to photobucket.

Cmp-shooter, are you saying you didn't check it out for yourself???? Rich did!

Glenn, I wonder why some of mine got deleted but yours haven't? Maybe they own the other truck and didn't like my brand?

I use tinypic, too. I am a bit confused. When I upload my pictures from my computer, I get a list with the various ways to share.

I use the second option for image code:

I then just cut/paste the image code to the text....and voilla, the picture is displayed like the above screen print.

Guess I'm missing something here. I have found tinypic.com to be a wonderful free service.

If you are looking for a good place to store pictures PICASA is a great place. It is relatively easy to use. Has a fast upload process and allows you to organize your photos anyway you like.

Early on in my computer life I would sometimes make the mistake and put the 'S' on the end of TinyPic and end up with the X rated stuff. Sort of a shock the first time it happened. Never had any problem when going to TinyPic site. Have seen no objectional photos. I'm sure someone has some on there but so far I've been lucky and not seen them.

Steve, The only thing I can think of is "usage" of a particular photo. Number of views of a photo can be tracked. I'm thinking that if a photo doesn't get viewed often enough it may be deleted so as not to waste band width. Much the same as abandoning a FREE web site. Over the years I built numerous FREE web sites which I eventually stopped using. After a period of time the sites disappeared (deleted?). The Owners Rigs pages are used frequently thus displaying every Tinypic photo.

Robbie, You are 100% correct. Too often people use the wrong address and by doing so they link to the wrong page. It's a Newbie to Tinypic mistake.

I really enjoy clicking on the links MOC members have listed under their postings as their personal sites and references to websites with info. Members photos are always interesting and a way to get to know the MOC members.
After approaching two years after joining MOC I have found the courage to post links to a couple of my sites. I hope others will continue to post their sites. As I stated I like to visit them and I bet others like to also.
So far I have not run into problems with Photobucket, Picasa, or Tinypic.

I am not anti any of these photo sharing programs. We use photo bucket , tinypic and a Kodak easyshare program. One needs to be aware that the pictures are not secure and anyone can get to them and if they can get to them they can manipulate them. Just for fun go to tinypic.com or photobucket or any of the others and use the search function. Type in a search word..start with Montana 5th wheel..that a nice subject..see what comes up. then try a nasty word or words... just for fun....and it is not to to hard to type tinypics instead of tinypic....and what a difference a "S" makes.
