Flag Pole

I need to find a bracket to attach a flag pole to the pin box. can anybody recommend a way to do this. the pole bracket that comes with a flag pole set will not work and can you drill in to the face of the pin box to install self tap screws? Thank you

I bought my flag and pole kit at Lowes. It has a metal angled mount which I bolted to the front of the Mor Ryde pinbox. I drilled and tapped 10-32 holes for the fastners on the front of the pinbox right above the movable shoe with the teflon pucks. See my photo below in my signature.

I bought a piece of 3 inch pipe 8 inches long. put two holes in it in the proper places as to put a padlock through the holes. That made a kingpin lock. Then welded a 1 inch pipe nipple at about a 30 degree angle for my flag rod to slide into. If I knew how to post a pic of it I would but works great.

Hope none of you 'flaggies' have the problems a couple folks did at Kirtland AFB in ABQ three weeks back. We had winds that gusted up to 55 mph. One MH (a Providence, I think) had the pole bang against his rear cap and it put a nice dent in the fiberglass. Another MH just had his flags rip off. They're probably in Mexico by now.

Forgot to add that the only winds forcasted were for 15 mph.
