Water in front closet.
Montana 3500RL. After a rain storm we have water in the track of the sliding doors of the bedroom closet. I've been on the roof and can't see anything. I know the roof slopes down toward the front and the leak could be farther back from where the water is found. Anyone have any ideas?

Check around the antenna rotating handle. See if you can tell if there has been any water. There have been instances where the seal on the roof for the antenna coax has been leaking. So check the area around the antenna where the coax cable comes thru the roof. There should be a boot over the coax onto the connection. Just a thought

I agree with bw2, we had a leak around our antenna and when I investigated the roof I found the boot around the coax out of place. Put it back and all has been well since. Good luck.

Several people here have had the leak at the coax boot on the roof. Hopefuly the fix is just that easy.

Our trailer came from the factory with the antenna improperly caulked. They resealed it along both sides of the bracket where it contacts the roof.

Ron and Dana, sorry to hear about this leak. Water can travel a long ways, even after it penetrates the roof it can travel to the closet area. The antenna is the most likely culprit but if you don't find anything there, check around the vents and skylight, etc.
If you can't see a problem with the antenna, remove the set screw from the crank handle inside the rig, drop what you can and see if you can get a finger up in there to see if there's any moisture. I've had that apart but it's been so long I can't remember the specifics for taking it apart. I do remember to pay attention to how the spring is positioned when you drop that crank handle.

Must have been where the coax from the antenna goes thru the roof. Sealed it and no more problem.
