Dual AC Montana3731FL

New to forum, have a ?, hopefully someone will know, looking at a Montana 3731FL, Does anyone know if all the AC duct work is connected, Our seasonal campground only has 30 Amp hookup, so we can only run 1 AC at a time. Was wondering how that worked, if u would have to run one AC for awhile and then switch to cool other part of camper or if ductwork was connected where it would help cool entire camper. Thanks for any help

Welcome to the forum! If you're talking about a new unit, the ductwork will all be connected. If your lot is shady and up north where it doesn't get real hot you should be ok, otherwise that's a lot of camper to try and cool with one AC.

We run the fan on the other AC when in that situation, it helps to circulate the air.

My new 3731 wasn't cooling correctly and had to be run on High instead of auto, would sometimes short cycle and was generally just a pain (along with several more big issues); I would have gladly taken it back and write off my down payment except that Crestview RV in Selma TX only offered me about 55% of my what I paid after using it once on a local weekend shakedown trip; live and learn I guess. Anyway after weeks of me complaining about the AC they finally told me to turn off both units and reset the thermostats by holding down the up/down arrows until the display read off. I did that and have had no further issues (with AC).

Makes one crazy as they could have told you that to start with.
By the way welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn and share information.

Welcome to the Forum. DW went to local sign shop and had a red circle and a red slash through it and put it over Crestview's logo. We always tell our friends to stay away from Crestview. Oh and what they put you through is nothing compared to what they did to us.

It will be a struggle if it doesn't have the dump air option in the living/kitchen area. Once the camper gets heat soaked from a day of traveling it wont cool the camper down with the one ac unless hopefully the outside air cools down at night. we have a 2017 310RE. BUT,there is hope, I recently found and tried is they have a electrical pig tail ,its a three way. It has a 110 volt(15 amp) and a 30 amp plugs on one end to a 50 amp plug on the other. It gives you 45 amps. Runs both my ac"s and fridge, I put my water heater on gas. haven't tried it with everything on electric yet. Most campgrounds with 30 amp have a 15 amp beside it in the electrical box

The problem with those adapters is they used to work until most campgrounds put in GFI 20amp outlets. They will not work if the 20amp outlet is a GFI.

Haven't run into that problem yet. I know its very disappointing to think you are buying a better camper than you had and you figure out after the fact on problems like this that the ac system doesn't do the job it should. If you have the dump air option like my old camper did your all set with one ac if not its not going to work very good.

We have only used 30amp a couple times. First thing when we pull in is hook up electric and turn all 3 fantastic fans on high, living room ac on.
We remove the vent covers in living room and bedroom. This allows more air flow, also an oscillating fan helps a lot.
Read threads about adding pvc in duct and sealing around vents.
We love our unit and currently on month 3 of a 5 month trip.
