Front Porch Light

My front porch light has burned out and not sure how to get at the bulb. I didn't want to break it. Do you pop off the whole unit or does just the yellow lens come off? I have a 2007 3400RL. Thanks for any help as my wife is sure I am going to break it and I would like to prove her wrong. Kraig

The orange lens pops out of the white part of the fixture. There are a couple of different types of lights. If yours has a weep hole, don't try to poke anything in the weep hole to get the lens out, it does not clip in there.

Just push upward against the middle of the orange lens along the bottom edge, and it should just pop out. Make sure that you don't drop the lens on the driveway or it might break when it hits the ground. Don't ask me how I know that! (Sorry Ray!! )

Whatever you do, don't break that lens. Keystone doesn't make it any more and CW has a different style. I tried to replace mine to get more light through it (another topic). Would have had to cut off, re-wire and re-caulk the entire light assembly. Wasn't that motivated...

I replaced mine with a "Smart Light". It came with two bulbs, orange and clear, we use the clear one. It can be turned on continuosly or serve as a motion detector light. I did have to replace the entire housing but no problem. We really like it as a motion detector light. Was costly, but it works great.....Don't remember where we got it, you might just have to Google it if you're interested....

Hey Phil, you are spot on about the Smart Light. I remember talking to you about them last year . I was at the Pomona RV show last week and the guy that makes them was there, he was selling LED bulbs for the them , they are super bright , i reluctantly bought one and haven't installed it yet, they were 24 bucks {ouch} , but I bit >>LOL. Soon they are coming out with a Scare light that will also have a Motion detector in it . Cool stuff , but Pricey. Have a great day...Scott
Ps you can get them a little cheaper at www.coilnwrap.com 79.95 I believe.

On our 2955, I took the yellow lense out and replaced it with the lense that is next to the front compartment. I never used that light anyway. They are the same light on my rig. I have always thought that the light next to the walk-in door should be white and 110v instead of a 12v light. Of course I am night blind, so I need plenty of light....JB

Scott, That is where I got mine from, now that you mention it. Didn't mean to hijack this thread, only offer an alternative to the stock porch light. When they come out with a motion detecting scare light, I might look into that also......

Be sure and get the same number bulb when you replace it. Some bulbs that fit get way to hot. Trust me.
