Electrical Problem

I was plugged into a 20a service @ my home. Refer, microwave were on. I did not use the microwave but I did set the clock. I had installed a new 30a service, disconnected the 20a and plugged into the 30a service. That is when my problem started.
A 20a circut had tripped and the 15a circut for the hot water tripped. I reset them.

Since, both the refer and microwave have no a/c. I pulled the panel and checked to see if I had a/c on each of the breakers which I do. It seems that the electric water heater is also out.

When I had reset the breakers I heard a noise in the garage, not sure what it was.

All plugs are working execpt the kitchen. The gfi on the countertop is ok. I am reluctant to try the air conditioning....

I am at a loss as to what else to check. Any suggestions?

Your 30 amp service is 120 volt and not 240 volt like a dryer circuit, right?

If you used all the wires in the dryer plug you ran 220 through your 110 appliances.
Dryer plugs have two 110 volt legs and a neutral but no ground.

RV circuits have one hot wire, one neutral wire and one ground wire. As mtheo stated, dryer circuits are entirely different with TWO hot legs and a ground. You might have done serious damage to your converter and your appliances. The reason that the RV outlet is different from the dryer outlet is so you can't plug the wrong thing into it. If you read the printing on the outlets, you'll notice that they are for different power sources. You'll need to have your rig checked out by your dealer or a RV repair service. A friend of mine did the same thing once and had to replace almost all of his appliances and air conditioners.
Again, I don't mean to sound shrill but if you aren't positive what you are doing, please DO NOT attempt to do electric work. It can kill you or cause serious damage. There is a link posted in "Related RV Links" on how to test a pedestal for correct power before you plug in your rig. I encourage everyone to read it.
I hope that not much damage was done. You were smart not to turn on too many things. Please keep us posted on the results of your findings.

I'm up early...still kicking myself for being soooo stupid!
I have run everything and all looks ok execpt micro and refer. Refer is ok on propane.

It sounds as though your converter is ok. That's a good thing.

Ok, so have you put meter on the Refer electric element connectors? If 110vac across them and its not getting hot then easy fix, just replace.

Ken, if your 2010 model is like our 2007 model the microwave is pretty easy to remove. Just remove the screws in the fascia, lift the microwave off its mount, unplug it from the wall and lift it out. That works on ours, anyhow. Maybe you could pull yours out and take it in the house to see if it works there. If so, then you know it's the wiring or breaker and not that the microwave is out. That might then point to whether the fridge is likely a wiring or appliance problem, too. Just a suggestion.
