Hot Water Back Flow Valve

I could have sworn it's on the cold side but obviously I am wrong. I haven't swapped ours out yet. It's still buzzing but hasn't failed. I have to remove the floor in the compartment above to get at it (there are screws for that purpose).

My valve went out so after one cold shower I found mine on the outlet side of the hot w/h. Just took it apart now I don't have the cold start when I turn the water back on. But I live in mine and don't have to deal with hard freezes.
