Slides are stuck - HELP
We just parked in a State Park in Ohio and started to put the slides out when they quit half way out. I checked the breakers in the front of the rig located on the firewall below the hydrolic pump. All three of them seem to have continuity between posts which I assume means they have not tripped the breaker. Does anyone have any suggestions. I do have one breaker I carry as a spare. Thanks for your help. John

If all fails, you can drive the hydraulic pump with a drill. Look on the end of the motor for a hole to insert a bit (senior moment, I can't remember if slot or hex bit), and directions on which way to turn to extend the slides.

First check is the pump running? IF not it is an electrical malfunction. IF pump is running and not sounding normal it may be low of fluid. If that is OK it could be a shear pin or??

John-- How full is your hydraulic reservoir/holding tank? If I remember correctly when the slides are totally extended the tank is about half full. If it is less than that you may be low on fluid. Is there any fluid leaking from under the Monte or slides? If you go to the Search engine here on the page and key is slides or hydraulics you may find some other threads on the same problem you're having to help also. I'm sure there will be others coming along here shortly that are a whole lot more knowledgable than I am on the hydraulics and the slides. Good luck!

Check for corroded electrical connections at the hydraulic pump.

Follow the wiring from the battery and see if there is an in-line fuse of about 30 Amp. I replaced mine on the 3400Rl with a 30 Amp AGC Style automatic reset breaker.
Good luck.

Wayne, perhaps you're thinking of the front landing gear motor. The hydraulics have the 50 amp auto reset breaker on them. It is the breaker many of us have increased in amperage, either with one higher one, or by paralleling two as Lippert recommended.

Thanks for all your help. I finally found out which reset breaker belonged to the pump and I jumped long enough to get the slides out. Then we checked the batteries and it looked like they may have been low so I will test them all tomorrow. It was clearly the breaker but I don't think it is bad I think I may have a low battery in my batter bank of 6 - 6V batteries for my solar. Thanks again for everyones comments.
