Cable wiring
Folks a good friend in tenn just traded a 05 cougar for a 2010 326rlt mountaineer. he loves it but he cannot get the cable to work. he called and said the tv will play but it is very snowey. has anyone had this problem. I am thinking maybe they shot a staple or something in the wire somewhere. he has it set up in a campsite semi permanet so it is hard to take back to dealer and they dont want to come out to ck it. any ideas???. He asked where to get a wiring diagram. "LOL" thanks bobby

My first question would be is the antenna amplifier turned off? If it's on, cable will be very snowy or even missing.

Orv beat me to it! I had the same problem when we were on our way back from Great Lake Rally and had the DW go up and turn off the amplifier and guess what-- clear as a bell!

I was have the same problem and it was that jumper cable in the dvd area and labled cable/satellite. The cable felt tight but as I wiggled it the picture would change from bad to not so bad. I used pliers and tightened it up good and now it is working great.
good luck.

If not the amp, I would pull the wall plates, and check the cable connectors. Most of ours were poorly crimped, and all have been replaced with the compression fittings. The last one I replaced was at the entry hatch on the outside. It had one of those twist on connectors on it, even worse quality than than crimp type.

glad you found the problem. I would still check or redo all the cable connections. I had a bad a picture and found two bad crimped connections. can't hurt.

I’m glad to hear this forum came through again!
I know I lost a little signal simply by using a slide on cable that you didn’t have to thread. When I switched it out and used a regular cable with proper fittings it seemed to help my signal a bit. It wasn’t as bad as what your friend had but it’s still something to remember. I know since going to digital little things like that can make a big difference in the reception.
