Eternabond on torn slide cover

When we were in Sundance, WY a couple of months ago, the winds were blowing about 60 MPH with higher gusts. We brought in our slides and weathered out the storm. One of the slide covers began tearing along the seam on both ends. Today I put Eternabond tape on the slits and now they seem ready for the strong winds again. Eternabond to the rescue! Nice clean fix. That stuff is as good as many of you have stated on this forum.

Well your awning won't leak that's for sure.

Jim--I did the same thing several months ago on all four of our slide toppers. The Eternabond has held up well on most of the slide toppers, but it has tended to pull loose a bit on the big living room slide, to the point that I had to replace one piece of the Eternabond.

I concur with your endorsement of Eternabond as a good tool for dealing with such problems.

I don't know how old your rig is, but on mine, the awning was covered under warranty only because it tore on the seam where yours did. Any where else and they would not have replaced it.

This was a slide cover that was a replacement. We were sideswiped by a truck and the cover destroyed. It was replaced by a bunch of MOCers at a Branson Rally so don't know how it would be covered. Thanks, though, Wayne.

As a matter of fact, Art, it does work with tires. Ever since I bought the roll, I have not had a flat tire - amazing!

We used it as a temporary repair for the crack in our black tank and it worked perfectly.

We were also pleasantly surprised that our slide toppers and main awning are in excellent condition. We did a very close inspection of this 3400 over the last couple of weeks and it is in very good shape considering the bouncing and rough roads it has seen.. Let us hope it continues.

Sounds to me like we all need a roll of Eternabond in our tool box. It might save our bacon someday.

Same here with our 2003 Montana. The eternabond held up nicely. Good job, Jim.

Jolu, I suspect we stood in that same spot as your picture. Goosenecks State Park, Utah. It's defintely a Wow.

I've always carried a spare roll of Eternabond for years. You'd be surprised at how many RVers we've helped with small tears and abrasions in their roofing material.
