Newbie from Mid-Michigan

Spent a good share of our rainy, gloomy day registering with MOC and trying to find my way around the website. What a wealth of information you people have!!!! We are excitedly awaiting the arrival of our 3400RL in early July. After taking several years off from the camping experience, the retirements have now taken place, and we are ready to resume our RV traveling. As youngsters back in the '60's, with no children yet, we bought a 13 foot trailer in LA and found ourselves heading to the mountains often. Wonderful times even though we had to buy blocks of ice for our tiny frig. We took 30 days traveling back to MI via Western Nat'l Parks to our new jobs. We graduated to a 24ft. Travco motorhome in the early 80's and have wonderful traveling memories with our two children. So here we are today, ready to experience the Montana life . Can't wait!

We'll be back with over the next several weeks. You all seem so knowledgeable and willing to help. That's just part of being an RV'er, I guess. They are a special breed!

GoChips, welcome to MOC! You are absolutely correct—true RVers are a special breed. Feel free to ask questions and join in on the fun. The more the merrier!

July will be here soon and then you can enjoy that Montana!

Welcome Wally and Margo to the MOC family.

Ask all the questions you can think of concerning not only that new 3400RL but that 2500HD D/A as well. I promise you that many of the MOC family members will have the answer in you require in just a short wait.

One other thing we all agree on is a PDI, PreDelivery Inspection, here is a link to a very thorough PDI...
http://users3.ev1.net/~crossstitch/PDI/pdi.html

Make copies and have this check list with you when you arrive to take delivery on that new 3400. BUT do this complete inspection BEFORE you complete the paperwork. When everything is as it should be and you are 100% satisfied than and only than do you part with your money take full possession.

Sounds like you have been doin' some lookin' around the MOC resources. Welcome to the Montana madness. With your experience you may be answerin' questions rather than asking. But ask away. Some of these old salts will have the answer

Thanks everyone for the warm Montana welcome!! Will take the next few days checking out topics, as like some of you mentioned, the answers are probably already there.

Glenn and Lorraine, thanks for the PDI site. When I went there I see it is one that I had found and printed out a couple of weeks ago, so guess we're on the right track!

Hi Walter and Margo.... We are not to far from you either, Lake City, we go bye Mt. Pleasant on our way down state to the Ann Arbor area, all of our kids, and grandkids are in that general area. Hope you have a great summer, in your new RV. We have a 2005 3400RL and love it, spent last winter in FL in our new rig, went down with a 98 - 29ft. Shasta 5th-wheel and went to a RV Show in Ocala in Jan. and came home with a new Monty!!!Yes it was a rainy fri the 13th, but we need the rain so bad. Sunny summer is right around the corner..and lots of camping... enjoy maybe we will run into you out in the great outdoors, if there is a place to fish, we will be there!!!
