Dano & Wifeofdano BACK FROM Vacation

Tuesday May 30, 2006

Well, we're back!! The store is open and customers are keeping us very busy, so all I have time for right now is to let you know that we got home safe and we had a really great time! Met some Montana people & told them about the MOC (especially John & Lori who we met in PA). The truck & the Monty did soooo good, and we had no problems (that were not self inflicted of course)! Will be posting more specifics of our 2500 mile journey throughout the different topics as soon as we have time. Gotta go, the phone's ringing............ Dano & Wifeofdano

Safe travels and enjoy the time away. That's the best thing about camping. Getting away and relaxing.

Lisa, here is hoping you have a great weekend. We own a retail store as well and my wife works shiftwork. It truly is a great feeling when you can finally close the door of that store and escape. Those long weekends are truly rare!

Lisa, David and I would have loved meeting you and Dano while visiting in Atlanta. Maybe we can do that one of these times that we are there. We love the Stone Mountain Park area and wish that we could have stayed longer. We hope that have you a wonderful trip and let us know all about it upon your return.

Guess I should have started a new topic or replied to this one instead of editing it. Oh well. It's quiet at the store right now, so I'll try to get in a quick summary of our 1st trip in our 3000RK. We started our 2500 mile journey by heading south to FL. We stopped at a campground in South GA to have lunch with Dan's mom who was camping there!! We spent the weekend at The Ocala Ranch RV Park (was not bad) with Dano's daughter and old friends. Monday headed north, through GA and into SC. Found a place just past Greenville on I-85 called Shuffletown USA (great place). Tuesday we drove on up into NC and took I-77 into VA where we took I-81 to the KOA in Harrisonburg for 2 nights (fantastic place). We went to the Endless Caverns while we were there. (awesome). Thursday morning we drove on up to PA to Pioneer Park Campground near Somerset. (very nice). We spent the next 3 days visiting with Dano's friend he grew up with and hasn't seen in years. It was totally great. Sunday morning we left there and took I-81 South. Made it just past Knoxville and stayed the night at the KOA in Sweetwater TN. (very nice). Left early Monday morning and was home by 11 am, so we got to spend our last day of vacation at home. We are totally chilled out! What a vacation! We're going to have to do this again next year! We'll post more under different topics about the details. No problems with the Monty (Dano says "except for that tree" I'll let him explain that one), no problems with the truck ( sure sounded good pulling the hills) I say "hills" because, well, nothing compares to my Rockies. We saw several Montanas on the road and there was one in each of the 5 CGs we stayed at. Too much to tell in one post. Later
