First Trip After Fire

Well we did take a short 30 mile trip just to check things out but this has been around 850 miles and I have to tell you that every thing has went great. Have had no problems except that the roads are Bad and shook things up a lot. We first went to East Texas and could not find a park that was not full so did some checking and found this one in BurkBurnett Texas right on the Oklahoma border not far from the Red River. This is a country park and is very quite and just what I like it is only a few miles to a Walmart if we should need something.

OH ONE THING I forgot to tell you that rent here is $300.00 a Month and that is with everything included even WI FI and Electric and tax. Not Bad Huh!!!

Linda, I can't believe you're in Burkburnett, our old hometown. We lived there for eight years when our children were in Junior High and High School. I think you're right next to the softball field where our girls played. Our house backed up to the high school football field, on the other side of town. What a coincidence! Small world and all that stuff.

Judy, It is truely a small world and we just love it here in this small quaint little town. The park is at exit 14 off of I44 and it is not to far from where our son lives in Oklahoma, only about 250 miles. The park could use some TLC but other than that the price is right and this is where we are going to stay for a while so If any one gets down or maybe its up(LOL) this way do stop in. Today it has been raining most of the day but this part of Texas needs the rain.

Burkburnett is a nice little town. There are interesting museums in Wichita Falls about the oil boom, etc. The town is named after Burk Burnett, a ranch owner, and, at one time, there were oil derricks all over town. Spencer Tracy and Clark Gable starred in a movie about the oil boom, Boomtown. Clever title, eh?

That's good to hear, Linda!

I don't know where you are headed but if you are headed back to the Las Vegas area in the next couple of weeks and happen to go through Utah, we're in Moab until the 12th of April.
