difference between a post and a thread

What is difference between a post and a thread?

Also how do I go directly to my posts only?

As I understand it, a Thread is a conversation about some topic and it made up of posts from different commenters. For example this thread now has two posts.

The easiest way to find all your posts is to click on your name in the left hand pane where you have made a posting. Selects the "Public Profile" option from the drop down list. Then click on the "Statistics" tab and you will see an option to find all the posts you have made.

Hmmm....ok. Well you would think there would be a place to click right on the home page to go to your own posts since that is what just about everyone would want to look at first ya know.....Sometimes the tech guys are just clueless about us clueless users LOL.....

I just click on New Posts. If there has been any activity on any threads I have posted to then that thread will show as new. If it does not show, then there has been no new activity since I last looked and there no need to look again.

Go to the appropriate sub-forum and click on the "New Thread" button. Your post will initiate the new thread. The Practice sub-forum is a good place to try this out.

Click on "Forum" in the brown bar at the top of every page. That gives you a list of all the sub-forums aka categories.

I’m sorry. I clicked on forum like you said Carl & Susan but it doesn’t give me a drop down box. What can I possibly be doing wrong?

Does it make a difference if you are using your I phone or your lap top?

You can also find your posts by going to Search. Then advanced. You can search by user, date range, keyword.
Oh, and I was going to say a post is in the back yard and a thread is in the sewing machine. Pretty bad, I guess!

When you click on FORUM it opens a new page, not a drop down. Click Forum and then scroll down to the appropriate forum for your post and then click on it. That will open that forum and the threads it contains. Then click on New Thread.

When you click on "Forums" you will get a list of Sub-Forums. It looks something like this:

Name:	MOC Sub Forum List.JPG
Views:	27
Size:	76.7 KB
ID:	2981

Click on the appropriate Sub-Forum, in this case "General Discussions about our Montana" and list of all existing Threads appears. The "New Topic" button is pointed to by the big red arrow in this screen shot.
