Electric Dump Valves

How many of you guys have replaced your cable valves with the electric ones? Contemplating doing that. Any issues with that conversion?

Everytime I get the urge to do that, I remember the time, in Arizona, when the guy nextdoor couldn't figure out what to do or if the problem was electrical or mechanical when his didn't work.

I can see that being a problem. I need to replace my black and bathroom grey valves .... neither will seal now. Just wondering about options, since getting to them is going to be a major undertaking!

It's really not that hard if you have the drop frame, as the coroplast stops near the end of the tanks. You can just drop and roll back about 6 or 8 feet to get all the room you need. Than replace with Valterra valves. Several previous threads on this, just use the search function. 2 or three hours to do if your as "fast"as me, an hour or so if you're as fast as most.

Maybe on your, ours has a steel propane pipe running across the underbelly about 6 inches forward of the drop frame coroplast split. Going to have to tear all that apart to get the coroplast down. Unless someone knows a trick to that, it looks like a long job to get that propane pipe out of the way

The coroplast will slide out from under the pipe once you remove the self-tapping screws hold it and the pipe clamps.

when we at a boat show ended up looking at more camping stuff - there was an SOB there that had Electric releases on all dump valves - happen to have a factory guy there, when asked the what if question - he said there were manual cables behind basement wall - food for thought
