I wasn’t there I certainly don’t know what happened. The most likely answer is just like he said. If he did make a mistake he isn’t going to admit it now. Every body makes mistakes.

This is what I was thinking happened.

Just do not talk to me when refueling, hitching or unhitching.

Maybe there ended up being a higher percentage of contaminated fuel added to the aux tank, a stronger mix of bad fuel as compared to the mix in his truck tank. Don't know.
My sense is that someone put def in the aux tank. Especially if the aux isn't locked. Thx for the update.

Did they say what it was contaminated with? Do you know where the contamination came from? I suspect if State Farm was so quick with the decision to cover it they must be seeing this at least once and awhile.

It's not just diesel fuel that is getting contaminated with DEF.

I wonder if DEF is causing more problems than it was suppose to solve?

I guess truck stops are not all that safe after all.

Just saying is all.

Look, we all make mistakes and it looks like a mastake was made here. But if you put to many choices in one spot this is what happens.

If I remember right, the DEF pump is behind the clear plastic on the left side of the pump. Pretty hard to screw that up. This is at the Pilot stations I fuel up at. Have never had a hard time telling the difference between diesel pump and DEF which my 2007 doesn't use (Thank goodness).

Could be. Here is the latest fallout in the aviation sector; two Citation air ambulances are a total loss; many millions.
