All Most Lost My Montana (UPDATE)

Well it has been a long two months and this could not have happened at a worse time, the day before Thanksgiving with Christmas and New Years coming up, and with Keystone moving into new buildings. We now have all the parts needed to put my Montana back good as new. Work will begin this morning and we will be moving into a Motel in a nearby town. I can't wait to get on the road again. We would like to thank all of you for the prayers and words of encougagement there were times I did not think I would make it.

A big Thanks to Keystone and GMAC insurance for all the help they provided.

Thanks for the update and happy to hear things are looking up for you. I'm sure it's been challenging to say the least. Glad to hear Keystone and GMAC came through too.

prairiepoodle, we are so sorry for your ordeal but so thankful that Keystone and GMAC have backed you up with good support. We know from personal experience how important that support is. I hope it doesn't take too long to get things shipshape but I know that staying in a motel will be another hardship. We're praying that all will go well and your Monty will be as good as new.

That's great to hear, Linda! I'm glad this is almost past you. And I want to thank you for posting the info and the pictures. Those of us with the older units without the protection on that hole could end up having a similar fire. Because of your pictures and post I have insulated ours to keep that from happening. Thank you.

Linda,

I do have a question for you. I'm wondering if the insurance company is allowing any kind of "housing allowance" for you while the repairs are being made. Debbie and I hope to fulltime eventually and this would be good information to have when purchasing insurance coverage.

Work is almost done just a couple of small things to finish up; I now have all my 12 volt system better than when it was new. Ran the slides in and out a few times and they are better than before. I have to tell you that this service man is great he got us out of the motel in three days. He is David Snow of Southern Comfort RV, it is not a dealership. He has 18 years experience and is certified so if you live in this area or passing through and need some work on your Montana here is his phone numbers (Home 850-626-7031) (Cell 850-748-8428) He is a mobile service and can come to you.

Great news, glad to know both the TV and Monty are fit for show and travel again. Know you have been waiting a long time. Now it was worth it.
Tow safe and good luck.
