A good reason to have a surge protector

We were passing through Vegas before Christmas and stopped at CW on Boulder Highway. We met a couple at CW shopping for a surge protector, but it was too late for them. The couple was at an RV Park in Henderson and while they were away from their New Cougar there was an electrical surge. AT the time of the electrical surge they didn't have surge protection, so their microwave, TV and fireplace were toasted and required replacement. To hear about their heart break made me feel sorry for them, but this issue also made us feel secure because we do have a surge protector.
