Dual pane glass

I ordered a 2011 3400 rl,but now I'm thinking about dual pane windows,I was told by the dealer I must have them installed when the trailer is built the cost is $1,200.00,they also said it's now or never they cannot be installed after its manufactured is it worth the cost?.I don't know, I thought there may be an after market type ,dealer says nope. Does anyone know anything about this, cause I sure don't

Of course this can be done aftermarket. The dealer just wants the dollar. However, they would be more expensive aftermarket, plus then you'll have a whole set of single pane windows to deal with. Others should be along to describe advantages and disadvantages.

I have dual pane. Yes they can be added after but shipping cost will drive the cost up. Remember the $1200 is additional cost not total cost if you replaced later.
Our windows do not frost up. I do have a couple that have cold drafts around them.
The screen area does not seem to be as much as the single pane. I had to replace the bedroom dual pane with one that has a screen on it. For some reason at least when our 07 was built they did not think a screen was needed in the bed room with the dual pane. WRONG. I bought one and replaced it at Goshen.

I have them and like them. Done at the factory. They are quieter than single pane. I'm on year two with this unit and now have one window that failed. Fogs up. I'll get it replaced soon. I would buy them again from the factory.
You could do a search. There has been quite a bit of discussion on this subject.

We have dual pane wndows and would not go any other way. Great noise reduction and reduces the formatiom of condensation compared to single pane. If you do go dual pane, have them installed at the factory as you'll save frieght and labor plus will be an integral part of the unit for warranty purposes.

Our last two units have had the dual pane. The dual pane windows are definitely quieter and mostly condensation free. With the single pane windows, especially in the cooler temps of early spring and late fall, we found ours were dripping with moisture come morning with the blinds pulled. With the duals that situation has been mostly remedied. With our cooler/humid conditions we will always be opting for the dual panes.

Last summer I got them added to the order for our 2010 for 40% off that $1200. Try a little negotiating.

Dual Pane, sitting in the super slide without them is like night and day, comfort wise. We had a Keystone Sprinter trailer without them, then the Montana with them, would not have singles again. Factory.

1200, wow, had ours added on the factory build for 680. definately worth it, added weight but having had several units without, it is a great add for the reason other folks stated.

I regret not getting them when we ordered this rig. From what I can see the value includes better temperature control and noise reduction (not a small thing).
