We read all about Red Max Pro also and decided to give it a try. A friend had used PolyGlow on his Montana and I discovered Red Max Pro after doing some internet googling for PolyGlow. Everyone that used Red Max Pro raved about the shine, with before and after pictures as proof. Some folks applied it more than a year ago and their RVs were still shiny and hadn't yellowed.

We started a week ago prepping Monty by trimming the curling decals, removing the dried adhesive that was left behind (liquid Goo Gone) and then lightly scrubbing the whole 5th wheel with Barkeepers Friend and a Scotch-Brite type pad. We wanted an absolutely clean finish before we applied the Red Max Pro and sealed any dirt in.

The prep work is the hardest!!! Barkeepers friend leaves a residue that must be removed and the decal adhesive removal is a nightmare! We almost had a tragedy yesterday when Jim fell off a 6 ft. ladder onto the street while working on Monty. Spent several hours in Urgent Care to find out he may have some cracked ribs that didn't show up on the x-ray... just fluid in the lung. He's on pain meds but still helped a little today.

To make a long story short, today I finally got the front cap and back cap ready to apply the Red Max Pro. I applied 4 coats, decals and all, to the front and one to the back before I called it a day... and it was worth all the prep work! What a shine!!! As you can see, by our signature picture, we had removed the front cap decals a few years ago and put the Montana logo up higher and a "SOB" bear decal below. The Red Max Pro covered the leftover images of where the old decals used to be and now it looks showroom fresh. The back cap still needs 3 more coats but it already starting to look new again. But that will have to wait until we get back from a trip to Mammoth Lakes.

A lot of work, 5 coats on the front and rear caps and 4 coats on the sides. It looks great.

Have you done this on Gelcoat? How long does the coating last? Is the surface to be recleaned and RMP3 reapplied periodically? Does RMP3 yellow over time or oxidize? How does it clean up after a trip on the road (mud, bugs, and grime)?

Interesting process and product.
