Russ. .... Now that is using the stuff between the ears ! I cannot believe I have never heard of that. Shucks, you could patent and manufacture and be rich. Thank you for sharing that! Problem solved.

There is a company out there that actually sells the king pin with the D ring exactly like you describe. Etrailer has them for $47.00

I have a Reese 20k and have had no problems. That said, I would not buy another one because Reese are made in China. Did not know that when I ordered it off Amazon. Received it five days before we were leaving on a trip. Stamped right on top. MADE IN CHINA.

I have a PullRite 20K non-slide and I really like it and one main thing I like is the locking mechanism wraps around the the kingpin

Just remember for all you people that care about it the curt is manufactured in china and assembled in the US. They don't use as high as grade of bolts. The b w built all in the US. Not that it matters to me.

Anderson no question. I have a pull rite that I use for a part time commercial use but my personal hitch is an Anderson and it runs circles around anything else I’ve been around. Absolutely no noise when pulling and the hitch can be lifted out with one hand. My pull rite requires a chain hoist , has moving parts but would be my second choice.

My next on will be the Companion slider, this Curt single jaw as a little to much slop in it.

Had the Reese for a short time, Junk! Bought the Curt and was happy to sell it with the last 5er. Now happy with B&W. B&W made in the US with US made steel.

Curt hitches on factory RAM installs are Chinese made. FWIW. Seems those that have them are not complaining.

Finally bought a hitch. Went with B & W Companion RVK3600 For Ram puck system. Very lightly used for $550.

That's a great deal. I'm sure you will be happy with it. I just keep the plate greased and never have any trouble. Maybe we can meet up sometime and you can let me know how it's working for you.
