switch for bedroom speakers

I thought someone installed a switch to shut the speakers off in the bedroom. Thought he had picture and instructions but I sure can't find them. Any ideas? Need a switch for each speaker I guess?

why do you need a switch. They should not be on unless you have the ab switch on or they are not hooked up right at unit. they need to be on the separate speaker connection and not with the surround connections.

I Installed one in My 3255RL.

I believe the problem lies in the stereo Keystone installed in our units. There is no built in A/B switch on the stereo unit. Some have suggested there is a switch on the ceiling of the bedroom. I didn't have one and I suspect they don't either.

I installed my switch in the cabinet above the sofa up near the ceiling.

The one I installed was an older version of this one.

Cost is $13 and a little speaker wire.

You will need some speaker wire to add this new switch. You'll have to unscrew the stereo and remove it completely. While you are in there uncoil the antenna that is coiled up. I ran mine through both cabinets one side of the antenna in the right cabinet and one in the left. I used a thumb tack to secure the ends to the wall inside the cabinet.

I can either have the bedroom speakers on or off, The living room On or off, and have both on or (off via the power switch on the stereo).

Its an easy install with common hand tools.

Good luck. If you need any other questions answered just ask.

Our 2002 3295RK did NOT come with a unit that has an AB switch. If we want one we'll have to install it ourselves. Thanks UHFTX for posting the link. I knew someone had done one just couldn't remember who.

My 2005 3255 does have the switch in the bedroom ceiling that cuts the be bedroom speakers on & off. Must be something they added later.

The "kill" switch for the bedroom speakers is apparently another change that Keystone has made after reading suggestions here on MOC. We don't know that for sure since we seldom if ever get told about these things. We have no "say" over Keystone and they have no "say" over the MOC. But good to see such things happening.
