New Dometic temp readings

The dometic in our new rig displays the inside temperature reading. Does anyone know what a safe temperature range is for a fridge?

I have always read that 36 is optimum temp for keeping things fresher/longer. That is what I have always gone by and seems to work great.

32 to 40 degrees. It's fairly warm and humid where we are and with the fridge set on 4 it hovers between 38 and 39.

At the store we try for 34 but in the rig ours runs about 36. When health inspectors check they want it below 40 but with doors opening and closing and seals not always the best closer to freezing is better. One other thing. Check the temperature with your own thermometer. Depending on where the sensor is located the rest of the box could be significantly different. Some commercial walkins don't even come with a thermometer on the outside anymore. We have three in each of ours in different spots in the box.

Thanks for the responses. Interesting thing is there are five temp settings on the new Dometic, and I am finding if I set to 2, I am getting the temps you folks have mentioned. Appears there is no need to run at near or max settings except when cranking up a refrigerator that has been turned off between trips.
