MY Dream Rig
This pulled into the Fall Rally Wed afternoon.
I am on the left drooling all over the TV. I did carry my own towel to clean up after myself.
The owner robb - MOC-6238 - Robb & Carole Isaacs
have my dream set up. This includes the Smart car.

John,
What a nice picture and what a great setup! He, indeed, is driving my "dream setup"! The Monty seems to be riding just a little bit high in the front but perhaps it is just an optical illusion. Wow! How I'd love to have a setup like that! Droll all you want. Hey, even droll a little for me!
Thanks for posting this thread.
Dennis
Skypilot,
I'll bet that is the reason it seems high! Thanks for pointing that out.
Dennis

Looking at the picture the Monte is already on its front struts and basement doors are open --- may be that high to unhook???? Regardless, where can I buy one!!!! (complete though -- even with graphics!!!! -- it is nice to be able to witness such a beauty!! )

I'm always one that goes for the bigger and better toys and when I first saw that I drooled as well. I showed the DW and bless her heart - she said "If he had a truck he could park in a parking lot he wouldn't need the little car".

LOL That's exactly what I thought. Now what mileage does it get? Still it is a "Grunt - Grunt" rig and looking down from that seat at the people in their little pickups must be testosterone heaven.

Not sure what MPG he is getting but when I was a OTR driver my Peterbilt would get between 7 to 10 MPG at 75 MPH and a Gross weight of up to 80,000 lbs. It will depend on what power plant, HP and so forth he is running. I had a Detroit 60 series, but I also ran a cummins which didn't do as well. I will say the Volvo is a wonderful riding Truck, Air suspension, Seats and Cab. When not pulling a 53' dry box and just Bob tailing around I parked in many different parking lots all over the lower 48 and parts of Canada. Those type Truck can be bought, I just can't remember the person who is chopping those trucks. You can find those Trucks with 400,000 to 500,000 miles for between 30,000 to 45,000 with a stand-up sleeper compartment and tons of driver convenience's and it will last you a life time towing a Montana. GBY.....

If you haven't seen Robb unload his smart car then you are missing a really neat engineering setup--maybe we can get him to get us a series of photos--

Thanks for the nice review,
Truck is a 1999 Volvo 610 430HP with only 700,000+ miles.
Rides and drives like a dream, 10+MPG at 70MPH, we have been to Alaska and all over with the rig.
Had the truck for 4 years without a car, went every place we wanted to without a problem but at 10MPG to 45/50MPG we like the Smart.
