New Members in MO and our new 3160RL

Greetings from SW MO!

We have camped for several years and been through the entire progression from popup to TT to 5er. We retired last year and thought we had our retirement rig, but I was wrong! We spent the winter in Arizona and made the mistake of going to the RV shows and lots there, ooops! Decided we might want just one more.

Well, we did it and it's at it's new home! This is our third 5er, but our first Montana, I think we're gonna like this rig! We wanted something with the opposing slides and it came down to this one and the BigHorn 3160Elite. We have friends that have a Heartland Big Country and we were impressed with it, but the Montana floorplan won out.

Just wanted to say Hi, can't wait for the first overnight in it, may have to camp in the driveway!

If anyone is thinking about the 3160, we should be able to answer some questions.

Later
Dave 'n' Barb

Rondo,
Thanks for the info and link. We will be in Illinois the preceding week and may be able to head back to SW MO via Omaha, only a slight detour.

We'll subscribe to the CPRR thread and watch for more info.

Thanks
Dave

Welcome to the MOC from the wet and white Northeast! You've found THE forum for your questions and discussions on anything Montana. If you get even a fraction as much from this site as I do, it'll be worth your time. These folks are great!

Hi Ron,

I hope you guys like your new 3160 as much as we do. Already started the mods; inverter, second battery, digital volt and amp monitor on batteries just to name a few.

Our PDI was relatively low impact other than the new 18 cu ft frig, it was DOA. First a "no flow" error on gas (fixed that), then it would not cool, actually got hotter as time when on! I guess ours came with the large pizza oven instead of a frig Camping World of Straford MO was great to work with, after them working on it to no avail, they swapped it out with another from a new Montana later that day. All appears to be good at this point.

That frig is huge, enough room for a month's worth of food and room to spare. I'll think well fill the freezer with shrimp when we head back from Florida next month.

Enjoy the new 3160 and let me know if you have any questions or observations.

Later
Dave

Oh Ron,
I have to ask about the name of your dog, Sirius. You're into astronomy? I always carry at least one scope when we travel. One of the selling points of the 3160 was the huge basement, enough room to carry my big scope and all the accessories.

Dave

Dave, most people don't get the Sirius (Dogstar) reference. Bring your telescope to the Rocky Mountain rally in September.
