BE AFRAID..... Don't do it get a big dually as its safer...... So is a tractor trailer why not go biggest or stay at home ! Seriously tho if they don't have a truck and haven't towed then buy the dually but many don't need to do anything but hook up and go...... That is what is seriously wrong with some of the advice...

I get where your coming from.
And to your point. The first time I hooked up my dually to a 5er, I went WOW this is a BIG difference! And when we hooked up the first time to the new 42' 5er I was like no way I would have towed this with my old SRW!

As you'll see in my signature I now have the GMC Denali. I negotiated hard and got a refund or exchange on most of my aftermarket accessories to now accommodate the GMC. There's a few little things about how GM does their bells and whistles that I think I prefer in the RAM, but there's also a couple that swing the other way. All relatively minor.
I can say that the Denali's ride while empty is MUCH nicer than the RAM. Much more like an SUV versus a big honkin' truck. That's a very nice touch. Then there's the GVWR of 5908 kg which is under the magic 6000 line drawn by the Ontario nannies (the RAM was 6358 which was the brunt of the problem).
So somewhat costly lessons learned about Ontario licensing, but hey, now I know more than most people at MTO!

I have never just hooked up and towed. We always did the homework on the Truck and Rv in terms of the spec's then after we understood we purchased what was necessary.
