Belated Introduction

I everyone . We joined several weeks ago and have already taken advantage of your hospitality and expertise with a few questions. We are from the Olympic Penninsula of Washington state and just bought our first 5th wheel - a 2005 Montana 2955RL - from a private party. Since the people we bought it from didn't know too much about it (taken out only 3 times and then sat in their driveway for a year) we will be purusing this forum and asking a lot of questions. Hopefully we will be able to return something to other forum members as we gain experience.

Here is a Belated welcome to you.
Welcome to the forum,
I will have to break out my map here in a minute to see exactly where you are, But I think we're sorta neighbors. I'm in Bellingham Washington. We've been here right at 4 months now.

Ken and Mary Ann,

Welcome! I think you made an EXCELLENT choice on the Monty you bought, of course I may be a tad biased!

My unit was previously enjoyed. It has worked out very well for us. One thing I did in addition to joining the Forum was to make friends with the local dealer. I told him I had purchased the unit and would he mind showing me around his dealership and introduce me to his service manager and parts department manager. I also discussed my extended warranty with the service manager and what his experience was with the provider. I even sent him some business.

Bottom line is that because I not the original owner, I needed to know about getting service if I needed it. The service manager has given me important troubleshooting information, when I needed it, so that I did not have to bring Monty to the shop.

I got a transfer of extended warranty from the first owner. If you do not have such, I would strongly consider purchasing one. Several have been mentioned on the forum.

I have absorbed a large body of healpful information from this group. It has helped me avoid some major issues both in mainetance and operation. Happy RVing......

Hey! I am in the Tri-Cities and have a sister-in-law in Bellingham. I was up there last year in my 5er for a couple of days. Stayed at Bellingham RV Park (I think). Right off I-5. I meant to get up there this year but have not made it. Maybe next year.

Hey Mike, I already have a reservation for an extended stay in the RV Park you talked about. I work right around the corner from there and will be able to walk to work. Not real sure I'm looking forward to it in the middle of winter though !

Ken & Mary Ann,

Welcome to the Forum! This is the "hot spot" for wonderful information and meeting new friends. Up until last spring we have lived in the Marysville WA area and visited the Peninsula often. We had relatives who lived in Brinnon for years, on Black point, just south of Brinnon. We are currently on our way down to AZ. till spring, maybe we can catch up with you next summer sometime, as we plan on going back over then?

We have enjoyed our 2005 2955RL for 2 years now. Did yours come with the "wood" door between the bathroom and bedroom? We love having that and they don't put them in anymore.

Welcome aboard! This is certainly the place to learn about your Montana. Plus there are a lot of really great people here including lots from Washington. We visited your beautiful state this past summer.
Happy trails........................

I would like to get back over there, but it doesn't look like I will be able to. Are you going to the Sisikiyou Rally in May of 07?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Roy & Nancy - no, we don't have the wood door between bedroom and bathroom. It has the draw curtain which is OK with us as we probably will never use it unless we have guests.

If I'm still in this neck of the woods next year. I would love to go to one of the rallies.

Welcome to the MOC. We have the 2955RL, too, and enjoy the floor plan.

Welcome Ken and Mary Ann--we live in Poulsbo so are "neighbors", too! This forum is an excellent place to learn everything you want to know about your 5th wheel. Great people here who are more than willing to share their expertise.

Welcome. Hope you enjoy the forum and that 2955RL. Our 3255RL was previously enjoyed and we have had many happy adventures in it.
