Hide A Bed
Any idea if the Hide A Bed in our 2955RL is a twin size or full size bed? Looking for some sheets for it,
Thank you

In our 3475RL the sofa sleeper is a full. Not sure if you have the J bed or the sofa sleeper?? Am sure someone with your model will be here soon to answer your question.

I think most of them are rated as regular double beds. I think they are a little skimpy myself. I really wouldn't want to sleep on it except as a last resort. But I will have to admit to being a little picky.

Ours is a queen, short length. The mattress leaves a lot to be desired.

Ours is a short queen too. We discovered that turning the couch toward the dinette and opening it, we could easily get get around the hidabed to the door w/o jumping over it. Jo and I slept on it one night while our daughter and son in law slept upstairs. We slept ok on it and it wasn't all that bad.

Ours is also a short queen, we would like to remove it and put in a futon. Has anyone done this?

My 06 2955RL is a 54' wide double hide a bed sofa. I have pulled out the mattress and laid down on it and it seems OK. The only reason we wanted the hide a bed is in case the kids ever drop in on us and it will be fine for that. The main thing is the sofa is really firm and comfortable with 3 removable cushions. We haven't travelled in ours but I have been out there watching TV and it is really nice to sit on or lay down and put your feet up on.
The world would be a pretty boring place if we all liked the same things , but there is no way I would trade that sofa for a futon.
It is funny how all the Montanas can be a little different even in same models. Ours has a big mirror in the little toilet room and another 06 2955RL we were looking at had no mirror.
Oh well, every Montana I have ever been inside, I liked, not the other brands , and Canadian models remind me of some cheap motels I have stayed in, and some of these are way more expensive than Montanas.

I think someone mentioned putting a memory foam topper, like the one everyone puts on their regular bed, on the sofa-bed. If it is thin enough (2"?), it may fit when folded up.
Then again, I have heard some mention that they would just as soon have the sofa-bed "uncomfortable", as it seems to discourage those occassional wannabe "overnight guests".

Dave,
I have the memory foam on my hide-a-bed, really helps with that bar across your back. It folds up with the rest of the bed and sheets. I give my bed to the parents when they come down and visit during the summer and I take the hide-a-bed. =)

We have the memory foam topper on ours but it is not easy to get it folded back into the couch.
