Now that would be a great idea! I don't have a lot of hair to spare... need to keep a close watch on it every chance I get...

ejc1214,

Understand it for what it is. This is one big family. If you have questions, concerns or a problem, you will find you answer by simply asking.

If you ever get the opportunity to attend a rally or meet with a group of these folks, do it. Even if it means going out of your way. You will come away a richer man.

Hey Dale,
I know what you mean. Everyone on here is so much more helpful than other forums I belong. One great thing on this forum is the fact that there is hardly if any bickering. No Ford vs. Chevy or Chevy vs. Dodge. Who cares what you tow with as long as you feel safe and it works for you? I am a Chevy man but I wont look down at someone because they tow with another brand. Whatever works for you. you know? On some of the other forums all you get is brand X vs. brand Y.
As to making to a rally, we are going to try like heck to make it to one this year. Unfortunately, most of the planned ones are too far for s and not at right times of the year since we have a 9 year old in school. I am trying to get some NC Monty owners to have our own rally sometimes this year and a few have expressed interest. We just need to come up with a date to do it. And of course all Monty owners in the area or that want to come are welcomed. I am looking forward to meeting as many of the MOC people we can. Ya'll are great!

ejc1214, how do you like the new nose cap on your Montana and that hitch mirror. Any idea what that mirror is made of? I'm still hoping to get to see one up close and personal one of these days but so far have struck out.

I believe Glenn posted the material the mirror was made out of, but I can't remember for sure what it was.

sreigle,
I like the new cap fine. I don't think it makes much difference on long bed truck but been told that short box trucks would be able to make tighter turns with it. I am not sure how that is going to happen since king-pin is well back from the front nose and I don't think they are offering an extended king-pin but I could be wrong. Not sure what material the mirror is made out of but I know it is shiny. LOL. Helps backing up but not really needed I think. As to getting to look at one real close up, I got one in my driveway, come on over and look all you want, no charge. I will even throw in a cold one or a hot cup of coffee.

I believe it was chrome plated plastic - like some bumpers used to be??? Where are you, Glenn?

Thanks all for the compliments on my set up. First Monty and love it so far. I just wish that the weather would stop playing games! All Dec and Jan the weather was great then I buy the Monty and use it once and all hell breaks loose. Cold and snow! I should have known it! Next week-end is a three day week-end and it does not look like it will get any warmer! Oh well, I always got that honey-do list! lol

Thanks for the offer, Ed! I actually checked your profile to see where you are, then fired up streets and trips to see how far that is from here and if I could make it there and back in a day trip. 1511 miles. I guess I'll pass but keep that cold one cod for me!

I can tell you're a FTer, Steve. Anyone who even considers traveling 1500+ miles for a free beer, has GOT to be a man with time on his hands! Sounds like a great lifestyle. We are really excited to get started. Cheryl has the days til retirement on her calendar... marks them off every night.

ejc1214, don't let a little cold weather keep you from enjoying your Montana. Wrap up in some blankets and start a campfire. You don't want to waste that 3 day weekend, especially doing a honey-do list.

You know you got a point there! I am trying to get DW to go for it. Told her we can camp in SC and that surely is going to be a little warmer.
