Hey... Those with diesels
Anyone who buys diesel could sure help out a little on the following web site.
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/gaspr...ex.shtml<br />
There are tons of folks reporting gasoline prices on this site. However, there are huge gaps in area diesel prices. If MOC members posted diesel prices in their travels, it would surely benefit all of us. Anyone can report a gas station's price. It's not complicated. You don't have to sign up for anything. Anyone will to share as you travel?

Sorry about that!
Click on your state (or the one you are traveling through) on that website. On the page that comes up there will be links to some of the metro area in your state and the bottom link will say "Additional Gasoline Price Info for XX Cities:" If you want to report in one of those cities, click on that link. Otherwise, most would probably use the "Additional..." link. There, up in the upper left column, is a simple entry system. Down below that is where you can check prices. There are ALOT of people reporting on these sites, but as I mentioned very few are reporting Diesel Prices. Sorry about the confusion.
Dave
PS I have both the national website and my state (Michigan) website bookmarked.
PPS You can go quickly to any state's web page just by typing "www.(anystatefullname)gasprices.com". For example, Mich would be "www.michigangasprices.com".

Good idea! I'll try to do that next time I fill up.
Anyone traveling up US 20 in the Island Park, ID, area, there's a Chevron station on the east side of the highway (email me for better directions) that currently has two things going for it:
1. Best diesel price in the area at 2.999.
2. 10 cents off per gallon if you pay cash. This is through the Labor Day weekend. We took advantage of this prior to our trip into Yellowtone on Friday and again after exiting the park same day. This applies both to diesel and gasoline.

From Nebraska to Virginia it seems that Diesel was about 2.79 a gal most places, gasoline as high as 3.49 around Indianapolis. 3.09-3.29 here in Winchester, VA

Yesterday along I-90 diesel ranged from $2.89 to $2.90 per gallon in Illinois and Wisconsin. At the BP station in St. Charles MN (mm233) it was $2.79. In Rochester it is $2.73. I paid the $2.90 at the TA at Janesville.

I just signed up to help y'all keep tabs on diesel (and gas) prices up here...just in case you're planning on coming to visit me next summer!
I'll try to keep this fairly current (I have no life!)

Great idea! I'll start posting what I see in the north west corner of Vermont.
I hope someone will post prices along I 87 , NJTP, Delmarva Peninsula and coastal NC so we know what to expect when we travel in two weeks.

I went back and re-read my original post. I may need to clarify my request slightly. This is great - posting prices on MOC - but make sure you are also posting these prices on the "fueleconomy.gov" also, as this is very real time, and you will reach a much larger audience.
Thanks,
Dave
