Has anyone seen or know anyone with an Open Road 5r? I saw one the other day and it looked like an ok unit.

I have a good friend who just got rid of his 2004 Montana 3685FL for a 40' Open Road. Been inside for a few mins and it seems like a really nice coach. The biggest thing I like is it sitting on a triple axle frame. Wish Keystone would put the 3400RL or any of the rigs that are close to 40' on them as well.

As I've noted on a few other postings, we were dead set on an OR in the 37' rear living configuration. Absolutely beautiful coach at a great price. OR puts high-line amenities in their moderately priced units. Unfortunately, our OR salesman got lazy (thought he had a sale in his pocket and stopped working for his cut of my $45K-- I absolutely HATE that), AND we happened to find a really sweet deal on out Mounty on Dec 31st of 2004 (dealer was discounting like crazy to make a sales goal for the year). As much as we would have liked the extra room, Corian counters, super-heavy-duty carpet/flooring and upgraded entertainment center, we still love our Mounty and its ridiculously tiny price tag.

Thanks guys. I was actually impressed with the luxury and quality for the price. I have 4 years until I could retire, so I have time to look around, and to save some more coin. We are not sure at this point if we will stay with a 5th wheel or go back to a motorhome. The monty has been a pretty good unit so far although I did have to have the underbelly cover replaced. If we decide to go with a larger 5th wheel Montana will certainly be looked at. Happy trails to you.
