Big Back Window Fade?
Hi I was wondering with the back window on the Montana, does the sun fade your room darkening day night shade? The window is tinted but I am curious to know. Also I thought I seen a fifthwheel one time that had an outside shade for this large window. Does anyone know? TIA

You mean like this??
We added the shades to the side and end window for privacy but they do reduce solar gain and keep the heat outside. The day night shades trap more heat inside and are not as transparent.
Time will tell if they help with fadeing.

Fabric runs $2 to $3 a runing foot. The velcro is the expensive stuff.

Have had no fading problems. For the past 4 months we have the morning sun on the rear of the trailer so we keep the shades down in the rear windows 24/7 without any fading.

I don't know where I saw it but I saw a rig with a shade on the outside that was a pull down and a hook at the bottom to hold it down. I am looking into trying to find one of them for the large window in my 3280RL.

PrariePoodle,
I want the same shade that you are looking at as well. If you find one that will work for the back window please let me know where you found it. My dealership said they need to measure the back window of my 3400RL to see if they can get one to fit. At the lake I get the sun beating in the back window from 11am - 8pm everyday. I have left the nightshades down all summer 24/7 and have not noticed any fading. The coach was out there from May - October with temps reaching up to 112 degrees. They do not help keep any of the heat out but do help with the sun glare. Thanks Walt for any info.

We have seen all kinds of shades, windbreaks, etc. here in Yuma and at Quaurtzite. They seem to be much cheaper at flea markets etc. than at camping stores and dealerships. That is if a trip west is in you future itinerary!

The shade you want is the one like we have. We had it on show and tell at the Goshen Rally. It is available from Carefree of Colorado and it is listed in their catalogue as Carefree Sunshades. Their email address is www.carefreeofcolorado.com

$34 a running foot???? Guess I got a deal. That rear one on the 3670 would be 7 feet long.

Gruffy: Wrong! The size of the shade is 6'6" exactly on the 3670.
