Generator prep

I have an 06 3250. How can I tell if it has the generator prep package? It doesn't have a dedicated location to mount the generator.

The first hint of having a generator prep is a big aluminum box in the front storage compartment.

Thanks for the information. My doesn't have that. Is there a way to install a generator in storage area under the master bedroom?

Yes, there is. You can get the missing pieces parts from Montana and install an Onan genset. I hear they now run about $7K. Or you can install a rack that slides out and can hold a more portable generator. There are a couple of Threads here where members have done that. Or you can just buy a portable generator and run if in the bed of the truck, on the ground, or wherever it is convenient.

How much power from a generator do you need? An Onan can use up a 30lb. propane tank in 8 or so hours.

I have a 3600 LPG. Works well and much cheaper then the 5500. You'll need a transfer switch, generator, exhaust and sealed compartment and some cable.
