Thanks, Alsan. I'll look that up. Right now on the Dodge website, you can't even sign up for a brochure or specs. I had to rely on the dealers screen and their explanation of the options.

Congratulations on the new truck. I still love my '06 and may break 50k miles this year. I love the RollBAK on mine. It sure is nice to be able to secure the back of the truck when you get to your destination.

I believe it's the 3:73. Yes, highest Torque/HP - no brochures or documentation to tell me the specs.

Here is a file that might help you. Looks like the SRW diesel is only available with the 3.42 gearing. http://www.rambodybuilder.com/year.pdf

Thanks for the info - 3:42 it is. Given the torque, I should do okay on trailering at almost 17k and still get good fuel economy. As I mentioned earlier, the info is still trickling out on these trucks. As of this morning you couldn't even request a brochure on the '13's.

I hope I have overlooked something but from the Ram body builder information it looks like towing 17K is going to be at the limit of the SRW.

Paddler, that shouldn't be a problem. It's still above my '08 Silverado 3500 that does fine. Going dually or down to a Crew Cab gets higher towing capacities. I want the interior space for hunting trips that I get with the Mega Cab.

I second joining the TDR. Will be very helpfull to you as members report and Editors stay on top of Tech Notices for this newest RAM.
The magazine is the most interesting / enjoyed of all the publications I read since it directly addresses my Tow Vehicle.
Have gotten a lot of tips and good ideas too!

Congrats on the new truck...I have my 2011 Megacab Longhorn Larime and LOVE IT!!! When you mentioned a roll top for your bed, I would suggest you take a look at Retrax bed cover...they are a little pricey but worth the security they offer.

Jimmy, I "hope" I can get it down to $50k. Looks to be about $10k more than that.

Don't forget that if the max tow rating is 17K, that you must also weigh the truck, subtract its weight from the CGVWR and this is what you can tow. It will probably be less than 17K but hopefully not by much.
Anyway, this is a way higher rating than what my old '06 3/4 ton ratings. For example, my TV is rated for 15,200 fifth wheel tow and has a CGWVR of 23,000 leaving only 7,800 lbs for TV weight. My TV curb weight is already over 8,000 lbs and with gear, hitch hardware and passengers it goes to 8,500 lbs leaving only 14,500 left for a fifth wheel. Fortunately my old Monty weighs 13,500 when fully loaded with gear and has a GTWR of 14,040 which are under my current ratings. Of course if you don't care about ratings, then who cares but you guys are talking ratings so I'm guessing this is a (good) concern.
These newer trucks are sure getting beefier, to match these heavier rigs. I hope rames14 posts picks when it comes in!
