Niece for sale

Anyone need a niece? Mine's for sale.

As we were pulling out of the campsite yesterday, she said to me, "Aunt Patty, you need to add something to your breaking camp checklist."

"What, sweetie?"

"Put the slides in."

Well, I like to have broke my ankle hitting the brake, and the same for my neck when I turned around to look.

Of course, the slides were in. But the joke was the perfect ending to the trip. I was owned, as the kids say...

A statement like that would definitely make one look!

Sounds to me that, she was getting even for something. Kids like this have a "teacher"! Is there something you need to confess, Pat?

My, how times have changed. Back in the day, kids never joked like that. Us children in the rear knew that whatever adult was driving had the ability to reach back from where they sat and smack anyone else wherever they sat in the vehicle and this was the rule. Fear alone, prevented me from "smart" comments like that towards any adult. As I got older, I called it "respect" but it was fear. Anyone else remember that? Then for that particular comment, there was no repurcussion for the brat's head to smack whatever was in front when slamming on the brakes since seatbelt laws prevent that too.

I like the way Captain Joe thinks, but don't forget to nail the child's feet to the roof so they don't fall off. Then for extra safety avoid bridges. You don't wanna kill them, just teach them a lesson. Maybe attaching them to the top of the truck would be better unless they are real tall. For a better lesson, hopefully it's summertime and the bugs are out, heh-heh.

Kids these days.... no fear, no respect, just "smart" comments with no recourse because we take too good of care of them. But we love 'em anyway.

We had the best time! We joked back & forth all week, and (believe me) she owed me one by the time we left.

Next time we go out, I'm going to figure out a way to make her sit on a funnel cake...

Actually, I do not consider this as humor or anything else funny. I would have had some strong words for her and made sure she NEVER did something like that again. It is not humorous to make a FALSE statement about something that can destroy your possessions and cause you to be so startled as to slam on the brakes. This is just like someone letting you pull fully into a stoplight intersection and yell 'Look Out'. Not funny at all. I think she needs her bottom spanked and some grounded time to make a good impression on her that something like this is NOT FUNNY and will NOT BE TOLERATED.

Frankly, I do not care to hear anyone else's opinion. My girls would NEVER have done something like this when I was raising them. They had better manners and knew better. A smart mouthed child is NEVER a pleasure to be around!

Lighten up Jim. Pat was pulling out of the campsite, not travelling down the highway.

I think that she should have held it all in - until today!

And today's date is?
