Restringing the Day/Night Shades

To whoever created a tutorial for restringing the day/night shades - would you please repost? The search function is not working (again).

Thanks in advance,

I may be the one you are thinking of who posted instructions on a web site. Unfortunately the web site got lost in a change of ownership of the ISP and no longer exists. I was going to repost it, but the Dirty blind man seems to cover everything you need to know.

In my opinion, most blinds are installed too tightly strung at the factory. Loosening the tension a bit will help both the ease of operation and longevity of your blinds. I believe the little spools at the bottom of the strings are intended to be wound around so that they can be turned to adjust string tension. I use just enough tension to hold the blinds in the up position.

I will try to find it in the piles of paper on the desk.. The Manufacturers name is on the blind however it is on the top were you can't see it unless you remove the blind...

Shazam..found it..Irvine Shade and door, Inc, Elkhart, Ind No Phone number.. They did say that other re string kits may not fit their blinds and you had to get the proper diameter string.

I would just like to add, that the restringing is not as daunting a task as it might seem. Just work carefully and methodically, make a few sketches, or take some pictures as you go.
