Sedona, AZ

We are hoping to spend a week in Sedona last week in October. Suggestions on a campground would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jo-Anna

The one we found in Sedona was so booked up in advance, we had to stay 40 miles away, you might call around using your Woodalls for areas.

We stayed at Dead Horse State Park. A bit of a drive from Sedona but it was the closest we could find.

Hi David and Joanna

I am from the area so we don't stay in the parks, but there is a KOA in Flagstaff and a rv park at Munds Park that you could use to get to the Sedona area. There are also several rv parks in Camp Verde. You may find several in the book - ours is in the camper. If you could get one to stay in Sedona it would be beautiful this time of the year. While you are there ride the Verde Canyon RR through the valley. You catch it at Clarkdale just south of Sedona. Take a hike in Boynton Canyon. If you get close to Phoenix let us know.

My husband and I went to Arizona last December and visited Sedona. We stayed in Camp Verde, AZ at a RV park called Zane Grey, here's the link to it www.zanegreyrvpark.com. The owners and the people there are wonderful and really helpful.

I booked Distant Drums RV park in Camp Verde for the month of March next year. TL has it rated high ...I hope we like it.

There is only one RV park in Sedona and it is a very nice one .... We just drove in with out reservations and they had a spot for us during the very busy season so they do save some for drive ins.... It wasn;t cheap but it was right in the middle of everything....... There was another one not too far away at the casino but for the life of me I can't remember the name.... Chech our blog back to Oct of '05.. It might give you a clue.

Distant Drums in Camp Verde is a very nice park. We stayed there last year for a couple weeks. The casino is just across the interstate from Distant Drums. The drive to Sedona is not a long one. The Verde Canyon rail trip is nice and we enjoyed seeing Montezuma's Castle also.

Cottonwood has several RV parks, they're sorta like trailer parks that allow RV's, but that is an option.

We stay in Cornville, AZ which is about 10 miles from Sedona at the Sunrise Resort just off 89A. We love this place. The big Monatana window backs up to oak creek. Ducks land there every day...nice place to drink coffee.

Sunrise Resort and directions etc. http://tinyurl.com/3dlygr

Boynton canyon, like said above is a must see.
