covers good or bad?

I was thinking of getting a cover for my trailer but not sure if it's really needed. where I park my trailer is in direct sun 75% of the day. also it's Southern California sun and not sure a cover would last long. Thanks for any advice.
P.S. also worried about mice nesting in cover as I'm in a rural area.

Before we went full time I looked at it and it seemed to me there were as many cons as pros so we didn't do it.

Use one every year here in the northeast. I've heard all the pros and cons, at least I think I have. It works well for me and would not go through one of our winters without one.

I have the ADCO cover, 3 yrs now. Works well for us, the Arizona is brutal on paint. We are on the road a lot, so it's not covered to long.
Trick is to wrap all sharp edges.

What you have to remember about "protecting" your trailer from the elements, is that the sun is the danger. Not the rain or snow. If we really want to keep the plastics, and the decals, and the roof, and paint and etc. looking nice for a long, long, time one would have to keep the sun off of it. If they just got rained or snowed on, they would never degrade. That is the sole reason trailers that live under covered storage always stay so nice looking.(Assuming they stay under there more than not). It's the UV, totally, that hurts them.
So, considering that most people install a cover for winter protection, I believe it's money totally wasted. The covers should be placed on them during the sunny months. However, that isn't very practical, right?
One can apply a product to block UV rays, such as Aerospace 303 protectant. It's very, very effective, but must be applied about monthly to work best. I do it on my tires and plastics (roof vents and etc.).
I see neighbors buying covers and they last about 2-3 years and need to be replaced. Their trailers don't look one bit better for the wear than mine does, and they are spending a boatload of money to accomplish nothing that I can see.
