Atlanta was a breeze

As we headed south on I-75 approaching Atlanta, the truck traffic was very heavy. Most of them took the by-pass and we continued on through Atlanta on 75 and, at about 2:30PM, it was a breeze. We don't take the by-pass any more because, when there is a crash, it backs up for a looong time. Traffic was heavy through town but moving quite well. The trafic around that town is always heavy but we were pleasantly suprised today. Yesterday in Berea, KY, and the night before in Wapakoneta, OH we had very heavy weather and tornado watches but the traffic situation made for a great journey, so far. Besides that, other than the Apollo going poof again, the Monty is doing great.

We lived in the Atlanta area for 12 years. We always advised guests to come through Atlanta on 75 or 85. Do not use the by pass. Most all the accidents are on the by pass. Only trucks making local deliveries are allowed through the city, thus all the larger trucks are on the by pass. So if you are ever traveling through Atlanta...Do just that...Travel Through ...Do Not use the By paa!!

We used to live in ATL, traffic flow depends on the time of day. Never go through town during the AM/PM rush hour, other wise it's okay.

We used to live in Atlanta as well. When traffic gets bad, it's bad. But when it's moving, hang on for the ride!!!! I must admit, I do miss that Atlanta driving - on a good day. And going through in the middle of the night, it's like your own personal freeway!

Jim, We came thru Atlanta on jan.2, was the easiest I had ever seen in yrs. Went as always straight thru on 75, there was more traffic coming thru chattanooga then atlanta. When we got to Perry Ga at Twin Oaks campground It was colddddd!!! but been nice here in Fla so far.

We are now in Florida. We spent two nights ago in Lake City and last night and for the next two in Apopka. We will then be at The Bees in Clermont for the next two weeks and from there, we are not certain yet. The Florida warmth is working great for Carol's knees. Rich, I finally got an interview appointment for tomorrow so we'll see what that brings as far as how long we stay in this area.
