Hard Wood Flooring

Hello all MOC Members.
My DW has been telling me that she would like me to take the vinyl flooring out of the kitchen area, and the carpet out of the living room and replace it with hard wood or laminate flooring, I think I would leave the three slides carpeted. This flooring come any where from 1/2 inch to ¾ inch thick. What I am wondering is if the slides will come in over the new flooring and not damage it? Has any one of you ever did this? If so how did it work out for you? Thank you for any info.

Your answer may be in looking at what is going on with your current flooring. Check you carpeting for "slide tracks." We have evidence that the slides come in contact with the carpet. There are also some marking of the vinyl from our kitchen slide. Others may have done what you are thinking about and will come along and report their experience.

We had a 2005 2955 and did change to the laminet wood flooring. Slides came in just fine but they lifted up and then slid in. Now we have a 4 slide 36REQ and we can not use the laminet due to the kitchen slide. It is tight and does not lift up. I do however think they sell the vinyl woodlook strips that would work.

Thank you cdaniels, my 3500rl has also got 4 slides, I will have to try and see if the kitchen slide will lift up when slides in, thank you for the reply.
