Loose slide outs
I have a small problem with the slide outs, well I am not really sure if its a problem. When I was cleaning the roof I had a latter up against the slide out and I noticed it moving. When I got to the ground I removed the latter and shook the slide out, It was very very loose. I then when to the other 3slideout and they too were loose. are they suppose to be this way. I have a 2007 3650 Montana, Itraded in a 2003 27 ft Sandpiper from Forrest River and boy I LOVE this trailer. By the way I am pullig it with a 2006 2500HD Diesel/Allison and I love that also Chuck

Hi Chuck, I have a 3650RK and my slides are not loose like you described. When you open your slides, did you open all the way until you hear a difference in the pump and the slides stop tight up against the walls? The hydraulic piston should hold the slides out tight up against the walls.

Yes, I even went around and checked the gaskets on each slide and they seemed like they were tight. Its like the only thing holding the slides in are the bottom mechanism which pulls the slides in and out

MIMF will happen along soon, we hope. He is our inhouse specialist on slides and slide troubles.
Might I ask, have you checked the fluid levels, or for a leak in the lines??

Chuck, are the slides "in" or "out"?? If they are in, then you are exactly right, the only thing holding them in is the bottom slide rail attached to the hydraulic ram, and gravity. With the slides in, you can push out of the top of all of them and, depending how strong you are, they will tip out at the top. There is nothing at the interior slide edge to prevent this, and the outside rail is not a solid attachment, as it needs to let the slide box tip as it moves into place.
When the slides are out, they lock down pretty well.

That is the only thing holding them out (hydraulic cylinder). The rack gears make the slide travel in/out straight.
