Slides stop
2010 3150RL
When extending or retracting the slides on battery, they stop, have to wait a minute for breaker to reset then will move a bit again then stop. This only occurs on battery power, works fine on shore power. I have read other post on this and they say it's a weak breaker or battery. Since this only occurs on battery power, could this be the breaker, or probably a weak battery? Battery showed full charge.
Thanks.

Lots of folks here either replace the breaker with a larger one, or add another 40 amp one in parallel with the one that already there to give you 80 amps.

Did you check the battery with an actually battery tester or just the meter on the wall. Don't trust the meter on the wall. When we had the problem it always happened when it was cold and then on either type of power. We called Keystone and they authorized a 80amp fuse to be put in under warranty. But if it's not doing it on both kinds of power I'd check the battery with a good tester first.

If that is an original battery,Dick is correct. A draw test on the battery needs to be done. Have you checked the water in it? The slides are doing a simple draw test for you and it is losing power under heavy use.I think a battery will be in your future

When we were having that issue, we did both: Added the second breaker and replaced the batteries and never had a problem after that.

Thanks all for the replies...Had the battery load tested and it tested good...Thinking will replace the breaker and see if that solves the issue.

Temperature is a big factor. Cold oil doesn't flow as well. What was the temp when using the slides?

I replaced mine with another 50 amp circuit breaker. Lasted a year and started failing again. So as many others have done, I installed two 40 amp breakers in parallel.
Here is a pretty easy way to do it. I did not have wire crimpers big enough to crimp that large of wire. So I got two breakers, two very short buss bars from Lowe's, and some shrink tubing. The lumps you see on the side of the bars are screws that I left and put the shrink tubing over them. Makes for a compact sturdy arrangement.
two breakers in parallel

If it's not that the rear stabilizers are down to reduce movement during slide operation and the reservoir is full of Type A ATF fluid (when slides are in should be full to about 1/2" of the top), and the batteries are in good shape, then it's probably the autoresetting breaker. I added two new 40 in parallel but if you can find a single 80amp or 100amp autoresetting breaker, then this should do the trick.
The only other major problem is that your slides are out of whack, but I betting it's the weak autoresetting breaker. DON'T add a second of the same, use new breakers when doing this so they are of the same age and therefore strength.
BB_TX has the right picture with two breakers connecting +'s together and -'s together (parallel connection) and the + goes to the battery and the negative to the motor.
